Upload excel data into a SharePoint list

Brass Contributor

Hi,

I have around 379 rows (3 columns) of data that I would like to import into an SharePoint list which already contains data.

I've formatted the excel spreadsheet to match the current view of the list.

I've seen some blogs that says its just a matter of hi-lighting the column, copy and paste (ctrl c / ctrl v)  this does seem a bit to easy??

Any ideas ??

Regards

Chris

Hi @Chris_Clark1968

that's right, it's possible.

Note:

- the column must be matched with your copied value (best with text :) )

- you will use the grid view

- when you have mandatory fields, the need an value

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your reply.

So I can copy say 10 to 20 rows at a time into my SP list using the grid view option?
As I say the Excel spreadsheet is formatted to the same column names to my SP list headings

If I select a number of rows from a column select Ctrl C and place the cursor in the Add new item and press Ctrl V those items should be copied in that column??
