Troubleshooting Sharepoint email enabled library

Hello,

I have on-Prem servers running SharePoint 2019 and Exchange 2016.  I have enabled one of the libraries in SharePoint, after installing and configuring SMTP virtual server on SharePoint server, and creating send connector to SharePoint in Exchange server.  I am not able to get the 2 servers to communicate.

The only thing I can do is to read the SharePoint Logs, which basically says there is nothing in drop folder.

Is there a way to troubleshoot why the email is not reaching the drop folder?
