Syncing SharePoint Libraries Best Practice ? Top Level? Or Folders Within?

Copper Contributor

Hi All,

I am currently working with a client who is having a range of synchronisation issues when synchronising his SharePoint Libraries through the OneDrive Client.

He synchronises a lot of folders within his SharePoint libraries, so has around 12 folders under his SharePoint in File Explorer.

Is it best practice to synchronise a bunch folders within libraries for SharePoint? Or is it better to have the top level library synchronised to include said folders?

IMO it's best to not sync SharePoint libraries at all :). But honestly it depends on the amount of files and size of the libraries. In very large, very dense libraries I would suggest that users only sync what they need. If it's a smaller library without a ton of content, I would suggest just sticking to root level library sync.
