Summing a number column

I need to sum a numbered column based on a name column.  For instance, sum the QTY column when the name column = Jane Doe

@Catherine_Allen Try this if it works:

1. Group list view by name column: Use grouping to modify a list or library view 
2. Use Totals > Sum on number column from view settings:
