SPO - Performance - Requests to SharePoint

Copper Contributor

How can I improve page load time? I have 8 webparts on my home page and some content rollup.  I removed some but it didn't make much of a difference.  I also changed from structural to managed navigation but that didn't improve speed.  Using Page Diagnostics for SharePoint, I see I have too many requests to SharePoint.  How can I reduce the number of requests?

Thanks

Hi@mhall1023 ,

Any custom code/solutions?

How many users do you currently have in SharePoint Online, reason I ask is it is slow until users start using and resources are applied to it?

No custom code/solutions.  Only around 70 users currently

Try this and see what latency you are getting to the Data Centre your SharePoint is hosted in.

https://azurespeedtest.azurewebsites.net/   Should be about 40-60ms.

Yeah around 40ms

Thats good.

When you say slow, how long before the page can be seen/used and how long before it completely loads?

@Andrew Hodges

Can be seen in a second or two with web parts/colors being added.

Complete load is 6-12 seconds.  This is true of the other sites that don't have content rollup

I think that is pretty typical. Looking at about 3 different tenants I have access to 2-4 seconds to see the page and 6-12 to finish loading the cog is about right.
