Simple good looking slideshow for Sharepoint Online

Bronze Contributor

Hello,

I want to have an photo carousel on our intranet home page that looks nice (sleek, modern). It seems very hard to do. Currently we have a Content Query web part but it does not look great. I do not want to mess with CDN to have images play.

What is a simple option to do this? I am thinking we need to integrate a JavaScript player but that seems like it could be tricky. Does anyone have a an article that shows how to do this easily on Sharepoint Online?

I didn't think it was going to be this hard!

Thanks,
Rob.

Did you try image gallery and highlighted content webpart on modern pages

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/use-the-image-gallery-web-part-bbcbe560-14a7-4369-8ef5-3255...

Highlighted content webpart has a carousel layout.

Also sharepoint responsive carousel webpart using SPFx

I have created a simple SharePoint Framework(SPFx) image slider webpart. This a paid webpart. Check the webpart here - https://www.nopvalley.com/sharepoint-framework-image-slider-webpart

it says supported version is Sharepoint 2019.... does it work with Sharepoint Online?

@Rob O'Keefe ,

Thanks for your question. Yes it will work with SharePoint Online too.

Initially, I forgot to mention SharePoint Online. I have updated the product information. Please check now: https://www.nopvalley.com/sharepoint-framework-image-slider-webpart

Greetings Rob,

Have you found a solution to your issue? I am wanting to run a slideshow on SharePoint Online as well, and finding no easy solutions.

Regards,
Curt

@Curt_P130  I'm not sure how simple you are looking for, but you can create your slideshow in PowerPoint, and add it to the page use the file viewer web part.

@PamDeGraffenreid Thanks, but I want to have the slides automatically change.  This would be for digital signage at my workplace.  We have monitors setup at work that employees can look at for news.

Slides automatically change in PowerPoint (check transitions) but yeah, it’s not as nice as the spfx ones being posted! Good luck

@Md_Nizam_Uddin_Mahmud  Does this work in SharePoint online using classic sites/mode?

I know this is an old thread. @tyreeb Did you check the Image gallery webpart? Carousel layout  has similar effect as a slideshow.

I don't think this is available for SharePoint online classic sites for non-CDN environments. @Bharath Arja

Is there another option to display an image slide shows in this scenario?

Thank you, Nice and easy
