I have a workflow with a pause in it. This has been in place for many years and has worked fine for us. After SharePoint (2016) patches were installed *(up through current) over the weekend - the workflow will no longer will resume after the pause logging 'failed to run.' in the history. The updates may be a coincidence however as our test server had the same patches installed, and don't have this new issue.
Basically this explains the issue we are having.

However going through the solution I have run the UpdateWorkflowConfigurationSettings suggested as well as I've confirmed the workflow timer service only runs on servers that have the Web Application service running. The issue persists.
I'm at a loss of what else to check.

<Property Exist="Yes" Value="Every 1 minutes between 0 and 59" />
All servers have gone through iisresets and full reboots.
