SharePoint Web Application cannot be accessed. Sites giving 404 error

Can someone assist me to get our SharePoint sites back online. Our web application url suddenly became inaccessible this morning. When I go to access url on browser I get 404 error. All the shares mapped on local PCs are showing as empty, Please help urgently!!

That's OK guys, I just ran iisreset command in command prompt to resolve issue.
