SharePoint Team News roll-up images size format

MVP

Hi,

Does anyone know the size format of the roll-up images of the SharePoint Team News? Not all images are resized in a proper manner. Resulting in cut off images in the news web part. I would like to pre-size the images so this issue doesn't occur.

Thanks!

Regards,

Jasper

The images in the News web part have variable aspect ratio depending on the layout of your page and the size of the screen. It's either 16:9 or 4:3.

The images are centered and then cropped to fit in the aspect ratio above. Unfortunately we don't currently have ability for the user to control the thumbnail.

Not sure what your expectation was to how the images would be resize and would love to learn more if you could provide some examples.

@Alina Skarbovsky Not the original poster, however on the News pages we use a default images for the news article that includes our company logo.  On the actual article it looks good.  When the news item carousel page makes an unique edit crop of the news image it doesn't look good.  Upper management wants to know why the images are not the same, and we can only say "SharePoint".  This very action causes these executives (who by their nature are control freaks, which leads to their success) causes them to lose confidence in SharePoint.  Sometimes Microsoft does stuff that just baffles the imagination.
