SharePoint Online Extranet Site - One External User Unable to Access

Copper Contributor

I set up an Extranet site to share certain documents with a group of people who are all on the same domain as each other. Users are first added to AD as guest users, then invited to the site. This has worked perfectly for 9 out of 10 people but there is one person who has NOT been able to access the site at all.

I have removed and re-added the user several times. The IT department for the user in question has confirmed the proxy is working (as evidenced by the other users who are not having any issues), and the profile and laptop set up have been check by them also. What could possibly be the issue? It has to be something super simple that is just staring me in the face, but I'm not seeing it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi @Lynette Sawyer ,

It could be a number of things:-

1. The user is trying to login with the wrong account.

2. The user is clicking Microsoft account rather than organisational account.

3. They have forgot their password.

4. That particular user isnt licensed for Office 365 - I have had this before.

How are they supposed to login Microsoft or Office 365 account?

Best advice I could give you to cut through everything is to jump on a call and see what they are doing via screenshare and see the error message they get.
