Sharepoint list search for 365 user then display in column

I'm trying to create a new user request form and I'm getting stuck on a early step. I want a User/Group column that will auto search based on two other columns [firstname] [Lastname]. The idea is nothing will appear at first because there is no user account. But when the user is created the User/Group column will auto update showing the new account/email. If I can get this working I can create a workflow around this column

The people/group field only displays active users. However, if you get the information required to create the account, you could circle back around and populate that column after the account is created.
