Sharepoint List Filter / Copy Paste value

Hi All

I have a SharePoint list with 2000+ items

I found the filter function a bit outdated as I cannot copy paste the value I want the filter on.

Example here I want to filter on all the items that happened on the 6/6/19, but I have to scroll down all the way down to find that date in the drop-down list.
Any workaround (apart from the search function of course) and any plan to fix that?

Otherwise maybe create a view where it trims down the data to the last 3 months so that there is a smaller list of filter values to select from?
