SharePoint Hub site not seeing an associated site connected to the Hub

Hi folks - I have a SP hub collection on Modern 365 online. Yesterday we noticed that news published on one of the sites (we'll call it the CS site) is not showing in the news webpart on the Hub site, but in the past the Hub news webpart has shown news from every sight across the Hub collection, including the CS site news. We did a deeper dive today and discovered that past news on the CS site, news that was previously shown on the Hub site's news webpart, is now no longer showing in the Hub news webpart at all. News from other sites, however, is still displaying as expected. It's only the CS site that appears to be impacted. I tried disassociating the CS site from the Hub and then reassociating it, this didn't make an impact on the issue. I looked at the Hub site's news webpart properties and confirmed that the News Source was set to 'all sites in the Hub'. I changed the News Source to 'select sites' and the CS site isn't listed at all. This tells me that the Hub site doesn't see the CS site at all. Confirmed in the CS site settings that it is indeed associated with the Hub. I tried searching for content on the CS site from the Hub search and confirmed the Hub site doesn't return any results from the CS site. The CS site has been associated with the Hub for years and it was working fine up until at least last week. We can't think of any changes we've implemented that would have impacted this. We haven't changed any site settings, just been publishing news and making edits to documents in a library.

Any ideas??

@Kateraid  Ok, this may be obvious, but have you checked to make sure that you have permissions to the associated site and that no one has updated permissions on that site? Another possible issue is that pages are unpublished. The fact that search doesn’t work for you either makes me think it is a permissions issue on that site.

@SusanHanley thank you for the response! I am the tenant admin, as well as site owner for all of the sites. I confirmed these permission settings havent changed and confirmed that the CS site content is published.

Do you think I should open a ticket with Microsoft on this?

@Kateraid Then I'm stumped! I think a ticket may be your best option if you've checked all the obvious things. The only other thing I might try is to create a brand new site, associate it to the hub, and see if content on it is returned in search results. If that works, then there is definitely an issue with the site that isn't rolling up. You may also have another user check to make sure the issue isn't with your account. If you have already tried all these things, you are likely going to need to resort to the ticket approach.

THX, I have tried all these things. Am opening a ticket with Microsoft on this today.
