SharePoint for customers

Currently we have a customer database in excess of 500 customers, each registered under a 'licence', each receiving an invoice monthly and numerous reports daily. Currently we email these reports/Invoices/notifications out , but I was wondering if SharePoint could be a better answer.  I would be looking to create an area for each licence with login security to put PDF's for the customer to download. I.e. customer 1 can only access area 1, customer 2 only access area 2 etc.

 

I am reaching out for opinions and advise, as to if this is achievable, the pitfalls, and any tutorials if possible. I have not delved into SharePoint much, so this would be a steep learning curve. I have SharePoint 2019 which would be on a hosted server
