SharePoint 2019 - New Functionality

Hi,

I'm migrating a SharePoint 2010 environment to an SharePoint 2019 environment at one of our customers. We are forcing to use the modern experience.

Compared to SharePoint Online there is just a small set of functionalities available. Searching on the internet for roadmaps for SharePoint 2019 delivers 0 results.

Does Microsoft have any roadmap available. What can we expect to be added to SharePoint server 2019?

Unfortunately there are no public plans about when this is going to happen in case it happens

There will be no new functionality added to SharePoint Server 2019. The functionality you see today will be the functionality for the life cycle of the product. Microsoft found the Feature Packs difficult to integrate in SharePoint Server 2016 so they dropped the idea of doing so in SharePoint Server 2019.

For new functionality, you will need to wait for the next version of SharePoint Server.

If you go to https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/ you can see SharePoint users requesting additional features and the dialogue that results with the Microsoft SharePoint development team.

This forum outlines what Microsoft are working on including in future updates, thought when is another matter!
