Searching in SharePoint not returning results

Copper Contributor

We have been running into an issue where documents are not appearing in searches, even when the document definitely exists. The 'Allow items from this document library to appear in search results?' is set to Yes, and the search visibility setting is set to 'Always index all Web Parts on this site', however we're still running into the issue where the search doesn't work.

For example, searching for the keyword "evaluation" in this document library yields no results.

We've tried using more appropriate syntax, but still no luck. Does anyone know what settings might be affecting these results?

Thanks!

Hello @KellyL1015

your documents must be checked in and published as major version, after that, they will be indexed.

Hi @DaveMehr365

Thanks - unfortunately all of our documents are definitely all checked in. I did reach out to M365 support about this, and was told that the issue is specific to searching on sites containing auto-generated managed properties. Apparently a recent update created a code issue that removed a function that facilitated the registration of store properties, and therefore the content was not being indexed properly.

As of now, they are working on another update to fix the bug, but the issue has not been resolved.
