Searchable Sharepoint List from MS Teams backed sharepoint site

I guess i have a pretty simple request. 

I'm looking to leverage the backend sharepoint site for my ms teams site, add a sharepoint list, and have it searchable from the top bar in ms teams. 

is this possible?
