Row limit for Excel Online?

Hello everyone! Does anyone know if there are row limits to Excel Online?
We have a file with a sheet with 95,000 rows and 12 columns and weighs around 8MB, which had been working fine until recently. Today, all users except me were seeing an error when trying to open the file using Excel Online:

The file opened fine for me on Excel Online, so at first we thought it could be related to credentials. After looking into it, we noticed that other users were able to open the file if we split that sheet into two, with 45,000 rows each sheet. This works as a workaround, but it's a bit of a pain. Is there a limitation on the rows/cells Excel Online can open in a single sheet? And if so, is there any way to override it?

the limit is not so much the number of rows, but rather the overall file size. see here for details:

@Ingeborg Hawighorst Thanks for your reply, but I forgot to add that the file size is around 8MB, so well under the 50MB limit SharePoint has.
