I am having a problem in relation to adding a column to a SharePoint document library.
This custom column is used to categorise the files our company uses.
We need to move these files around to places outside of our site.
The problem is that once the file leaves SharePoint, the custom column information is lost.
Is there anyway to retain this information when moving the file outside the site?
So if the user was to download or sync the file to their local machine? Or is there a way to retain the information when moving the file between SharePoint sites?
