Problem with following Sharepoint site

I have a problem with following sharepoint site. When I am clicking on following (star at the top right corner), site will not followed.

In DevTools-> Network I got status code :  500 Internal Server Error.

Request URL: https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/home/_vti_bin/homeapi.ashx/sites/followed/add

Request Method: POST

P.S. tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/home - is my working Sharepoint Site.

Anybody knows what's wrong ?

I've also had users report the same issue to me recently. In testing the issue, I've had some luck replicating the behaviour (where a site that had been favorited doesn't show up). And in other tests it just seems to work as intended but it takes time before it shows up, sometimes 5-20 minutes.

Has something changed when provisioning Sites/M365 Groups?

Only things I can think of to check are that the MS Graph is still on. I cannot remember if following is specific to the graph but worth a check. 

Secondly is there an outside chance the user has never used their OneDrive before. I think you have to have visited it to be able to follow sites, again might be wrong, don't quote documentation to me :)
