ppsx opens in edit mode

When a power point presentation is saved as a ppsx (slide show mode) in a SharePoint Library it will only open in edit mode.  I see this as an issue dating back to 2003 where the solution was to  change a registration key.  Please tell me there is a more optimal solution?

Yes, please tell us! I have this same issue and so many of my problems would be solved if this worked as normal! Hello Microsoft?
