I have a Windows 10 Enterprise system with a user who had OneDrive on their system.

I tried to repair it:

%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
but nothing comes up in Task Manager.  No prompt or window to indicate anything it happening.  No OneDrive.exe in Details tab for Name.  Local Administrator on the laptop.
I am able to download and start installation of OneDrive from Microsoft website.  I get as far as the initial screen: Preparing onedrive for first user... then it goes away and never comes up.
Again nothing in Task Manager about SetupOneDrive.exe or OneDrive.exe
 
Tried to go to location and %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe run but nothing happens.  The prompt disappears and no prompt, no Task Manager OneDrive.exe

After the setting up, the OneDrive Icon does appear on the start menu but not on the system tray.
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Onedrive link shows up.
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive shows onedrive.exe

When I run
%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
nothing happens.

OneDrive.exe does NOT show up Task Manager and I don't see the icon for OneDrive (blue cloud) in the system tray.

I have gone to the ProgramData and AppData and renamed OneDrive to OneDrive-OLD and or deleted them and still it doesn't seem to "acknowledge" anything.

I do have the logs from the logs folder on my local system.  Is there something I should look for?

I am also getting the same error after upgrading to Windows10 20H2. Ran SFC /scannow and everything I can think of to fix it with no luck. Hopefully someone has the answer for this.

Solution
Open the Run command by pressing Windows + R and type Regedit and hit enter. This will open the registry editor.

Now Navigate to the following path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive

From the Left-hand side click on the OneDrive Registry key and from the right-hand side you may see the DisableFileSyncNGSC registry key.

This registry key value should be 0, if it is set to 1 then you will face this issue. Double click on the DisableFileSyncNGSC registry key and modify the value to 0.

My colleague told me about this and I had this happen to me today. OBNOXIOUS! I closed OneDrive on my Windows 10 Enterprise Edition system. I went to click on the OneDrive icon in my start menu..... nothing. No OneDrive.exe in Task Manager.
I tried repair and to call OneDrive.exe in other tech support site's. No luck.
OBNOXIOUS as I said as no GPO that I know of and I was using the product a moment ago. I even restarted. I too tried to repair with SFC.EXE /REPAIR NOW and no luck.
This is the fix that I ran and then clicked on the start menu OneDrive and it loaded. WTH

Thanks, this was the solution, it fixed my problem also. I ran the registry fix and everything works now. Only thing I have to add is I had OneDrive for Business installed prior, make sure you uninstall that version before installing the new Onedrive sync client.
