Modern Sites and Permissions

Hello,

I'm on the journey of trying to convert sites/pages from classic to modern and am running into issues around permissions on the modern sites/pages. Does MS have a plan to fix permissions so they work like they do in classic sites?

Can someone tell me a workaround for users with contribute access to not have the ability to edit a page, create new pages, change permissions or see site contents?

Not sure If I follow you here...the same problems you can possibly have with permissions in modern pages for sure you had them when working with classic pages
