Modern Document library and search

Copper Contributor

Hi all!

We have a Team-Site in SPO with the old 2013-look. The Document libraries use the new look. The new libraries have a search button on the top left (like ODfB), but the results differ quite a bit from the results that is returned when searching the site. The reasons for this are obvious, but is there any way of changing the search-field on the top left inside the document library view to give the same results as searching the entire site?

The exact case: We are using a library for technical documentation. We have added terms in the site-search that corresponds with a specific document that are highlighted in the search, but when our users search within the list itself, it returns too much non-relevant information.

Sincerely

Torbjørn

AFAIK, there is no currently way to change this
Hi Juan Carlos. Thanks for the quick reply. We'll train our users to ignore this field for now ;o)
Have a nice weekend.

We added a Custom Search link to the structured navigation menu on the left of the page. It's not ideal, but provides a way to search modern sites/libraries with managed metadata and still use the refinement panel.

The link would be something like the following:

https://<tenantname>.sharepoint.com/search/Pages/results.aspx?cntxt=<path to modern site>/&k=%20

Can't you hide it using CSS?
