Managed metadata column will be shown as read-only on apple mobile app

I have a column named Type of type managed metadata, and on our apple mobile app the filed will be shown as read-only, and since this field is mandatory so users are not able to create new list items, as follow:-

Any advice please?

I guess you have not found a way to circumvene this limitation? Worst is, one year later it's still not working in both the SP and the Lists apps.

I have created a feedback request in the feedback portal. An upvote there might be useful for bringing this idea up in their backlog 🙂
