Making a column mandatory in SP List based on value in another column

I have 2 columns in my SP list in SharePoint Online.

First column is "Status". Second column is "Inactive Date"

Now, if the status value equals "Inactive", i would like the Inactive column to become mandatory so that the user enters the date when the report became inactive.

Please suggest the easiest way for a SharePoint Admin to make it possible. I don't have much knowledge on SharePoint development at the moment- but can learn if the link/ article details steps.

@GulianiG Just checking to see if you ever found a solution as this is the same issue I am having.

@cassie_nii Yes- i used Power Apps to accomplish this. It was fine to do this thing there!
