Macro Enabled Word Document as a Content Type Template in a Document Set

I created a content type using a macro enabled Word document (docm) as a template. I then made this content type as an available option in a document set. When I use the New Document drop down under the Files tab (in classic view) to add a copy of the document, it triggers the computer to open up the document in Word on my computer. So far, so good.

The problem lies when I go to save the document. When I click the save button I get a save-as prompt whereas I would expect it to just save into the document set automatically. In addition, in the save-as dialog box there is no option for the path to the document set, it rather defaults to my One Drive root directory. Obviously this behavior won't work for most users. Any ideas how to get SharePoint to save to the doc set?
