Lock certain files types for concurrent editing

Hi,

Is there anyway that certain file types (in my case InDesign) can be locked to prevent concurrent editing? At the moment, it creates two files if two people edit the same file at the same time which can be confusing and is definitely frustrating.

Any help is appreciated.
