Left pane for Team sites in SharePoint Online

Hello SharePoint Users,

This might be a silly question. I have 2 team sites, in one i can see the left pane appearing and in the other it's not present. Any idea how i can enable and disable the left pane. Attached the screenshot.

Is there a chance that the other site is a Communication site (with no left navigation menu)?

@Norman Young Well, this is what even i checked first. From the page source of the landing page of both the sites, I could see the template STS#0 mentioned.

"webTemplateConfiguration":"STS#0"

So, both are Team sites.

Are you using Oslo for you master page layout (vs Seattle)?

Cog > Site Information > View All Site Settings > Navigation Elements and then Check Quick Launch if it's not checked.

@ChrisWebbTech @Norman Young Quick Launch was somehow unchecked in the settings. Enabling this made it work.
