Left hand navigation on hub sites and communication pages?

Hello, I cant figure out how to get left hand navigation on my hub sites and communiation sites, the navigation is on the top. team sites come with left hand nav working by default

Hi, you can only enable the quick launch via navigation elements on Team Sites.  It's not possible for Communication Sites as per the following article.
