I use the Highlighted Content on all my modern SP Team Sites, so each user can see a list of their own most recently opened documents. I select the team site and then use 'modified by' and 'current user' to pull out the docs. I've been using this for a year or so without issue, but recently it's got very slow. It's taking at least 30 mins to update today and sometimes it's hours.
By contrast, on my Hubsite I can use the 'Recent Documents' webpart - because here I want my users to see their recent docs from the whole of the hub connected sites. This webpart works instantly - as soon as I save a doc it appears in my list.
But I can't use this on my Team Sites because their is no way to select just one of the hub connect team sites in this webpart. Can anyone shed any light on why 'Highlighted Content' so slow in comparisom to 'Recent Documents'? Thanks Vicki
