Inserting of document version into Word doesn't work with non-English file names

Hi,

To show the current version within Word document I added label through “Information management policy settings” and insert that label into the document by Quick Parts->Document property.

Works fine as far as files have names in English. We are in distributed environment, site locale is English (UK). As soon as I do the same with the file named in local language (Cyrillic in my case) Word is shutting down and locks the file, no way to add the label.

That's bot for SharePoint online and SharePoint 2016.

Any idea how I may fix that?

I have the same problem with German locale and I didn’t get it work with Information policy.

In the moment I use a simple Workflow to set a text field to the version number from SharePoint.

I have to set some other fields like person look ups – they also can’t add to a word document.

Please come back when you get an solution for this.

Thank you for the feedback. Good news I'm not alone and that's not only my mistake. Bad news that doesn't work.
