If check-out enabled in SharePoint no edit file with OneDrive for Business sync client

Brass Contributor

Hello,

I remember that with old versions of sync client OneDrive for Business it was possible to enable the check-in/check-out property in SharePoint and locally edit a document and then sync.

Now with the last sync I can't edit the files and have a message of error that I have no permission; it seems that the issue is related to this:

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Learn-more-about-the-Sync-button-update-on-SharePoint-sites...

and there is a UserVoice with 691 votes here:

https://onedrive.uservoice.com/forums/262982-onedrive/suggestions/17864110-fix-synch-client-to-allow...

Now, there is an update, please: for me the sync client in unusable without this funcionality.

I expect we will have some good news around this at Ignite....this issue is well known and I have several customers that are asking me why Microsoft has not added this functionality in the new sync client

Hello,

any news fro Ignite about ODFB sync functionality with checkin/out enabled?

It seems like this is still an issue. I use the sync client and set a lot of folders to "always keep on device". After setting the sSarepoint library to require check out, I can't edit the document.

@Marco Mangiante It is still not implemented, and what more. It is not documented. There is no oficial information what onedrive supports.
