ID column in list

Hello everyone,

 

When adding ID column to my SharePoint list (unhiding actually), all items show their respective ID. Adding a new item though marks cell as empty and does not allow saving although field is read-only.

 

Is it something I'm doing wrong here?

just tested here with a new modern list, it works fine.

 

Have you other mandatory fields?

Can you try to use the new button, not in grid view?

Yeh, you're right. It works fine when creating from new button but not from grid view.
