I am unable to figure out how to modify documents in the word app after versioning is enabled. I sync the library on my computer. If I opened the checked-out doc through the synced folder, I do not have access to edit it. If I tried opening the document in SharePoint through the application, it says it can't save anymore forcing me to save it as a separate document - losing version history.
This seems like a basic problem. But I am unable to figure it out.
Edit 1: I see that you cannot sync the library and have the check-in & check-out feature through the desktop application... If I am wrong could somebody let me know. If I am not wrong this is a useful functionality that Microsoft should develop.
