The uploaded documents in SharePoint Online open in editable mode only. Either we open them in browser or app, they open in edit mode by default. Due to this, if unknowingly the user modifies the document i.e. by mistake a user types or makes any sort of change, the document immediately starts saving and the approved document goes back to draft status.
We would like to learn if there is any chance of opening these documents in viewing mode by default. So that there will be no chance that user changes the document while referring to it.
Moreover, if they would want to explicitly modify the document, they can anytime change the mode on the top right corner of the document to edit mode and perform the change.
