I am working with SharePoint Online and my requirement is that we have external users who will logged in to our site to check the items related to their section. I dont want any of the users will see other users list items. I dont want to use Target Audience setting so I was thinking about creating new view with following settings.
But not sure if SharePoint is using logged in users email or username? So how can i proceed with this? Please suggest. I need it urgently.
I believe that they'd be one and the same. With internal users and the people picker, proving a username, an email address or a "first name last name" pairing all still resolve, which leads me to believe that SPO perceives them the same way.
You could spin up an external Microsoft account at Outlook.com and test this for your own benefit too.
