Internet Explorer is soon going to be made obsolete. We have a SharePoint list used for approvals with a column type hyperlink which is used to point to a file on our network that requires approval. The user clicks the link and the file opens in the relevant office app. This link does not work in any other browser other than IE as modern browsers block file paths. We intend to use Edge browser after IE expires.
What solution can I use to share files with my users from SharePoint other than a SharePoint library? The company network is used for all projects and and associated files and SharePoint online is to clunky and slow to put all those files on SharePoint.
Any ideas people?
