How an Office 365 group is created when a SharePoint modern team site is created?

When we create a new SharePoint team site, we are asked to provide Site Name (eg. HR Team) and have the option to change the Site URL (eg. /hr). I just realised it's now actually the Group email address field instead of Site address. In the background, an Office 365 group is also created.site.JPG

The questions I have are:

  • Will the group share the same name as the site (eg. HR Team)?
  • If I change the name of the site after creation, will the group name be changed as well?
  • Or if I rename the group, would the site name update?
  • If we decided to use some group naming policy, is the SPO site URL going to be the same as the group email address, ie. with prefix-suffix naming?
