Help: Size of file was increased after upload versus to Document library

Hi all,

I have below trouble & looking forward to find out the solution.

[Pre-condition]
+ I created SPO Classic Team site
+ I want to upload my folder versus to Document library
+ In my PC, my folder structure like as the sample below

Parent Folder

|___Child Folder 01

|
|___file11.pdf - about 9.5 MB
|___file12.pdf - about 10 MB
|___file13.pdf - about 11 MB

|___Child Folder 02

|
|___file21.pdf - about 4 MB
|___file22.pdf - about 5 MB
|___file23.pdf - about 20 MB

[Actually]

+ After upload was done, I got the below result in SPO document library.
The file size of Child Folder 01 folder is increased, while Child Folder 02 is unchanged.

Parent Folder
|___Child Folder 01

|
|___file11.pdf - about 20 MB
|___file12.pdf - about 20 MB
|___file13.pdf - about 20 MB

|___Child Folder 02

|
|___file21.pdf - about 4 MB
|___file22.pdf - about 5 MB
|___file23.pdf - about 20 MB

[Question]
What is the cause of this problem? is there any way to fix it?

Hello!
How many times did you upload the Child folder 01? Do you have versioning enabled? How are you calculating the size of the folder?

I just checked in the history version management, there is only version 1.0 is available.
I checked the file size in the details information of the file.

I understand, I was able to repro if I upload the file multiple times, that's why I asked.
What if you download the files in Folder 01, what's the size again on file system?

When I download these files again from Document library to PC again, the file size on PC are the same with Document library too (about 20MB).

Are you able to reproduce in another folder or another DL?

We just uploaded many files & folder for few months ago.
And then, we realized this issue in the last few days.
Now, I unable reproduce but I'm worried if there are other folders with the same problem.
I hope that I can figure out the cause then we can figure out a way to check if there is a similar folder.
