Gray background suddenly showing on my icons

Hi -

We modernized our SharePoint online earlier this year, and I spent a lot of time finding fun icons to help navigate folks to various areas of our site. They used to look great, with clear backgrounds. 

Starting about a month ago, they all started showing gray where white/transparent used to be, and I find myself being forced to search only for square-shaped icons to combat this. I think this change coincides with Microsoft's debut of their own icons (I don't want to use Microsoft's icons b/c they're all B&W and there isn't enough selection). 

Is there anything I can do to fix this? The gray shows no matter what the browser, device, or network.

They updated the tile and quick launch webparts with more options and changed this. So there really isn't anything you can do about it other than go see if a uservoice exists for it, if not create on and post it up for votes.
