Force PowerPoint files to open in slideshow mode from SharePoint page

I need help!  I've tried everything I can think of, and nothing I've tried has worked. I have a PowerPoint slideshow that I need to link to from a SharePoint online page. No matter what I've tried, the document will not open in slideshow mode, even though it's a .ppsx file. Is there anything I can do that will force the link to open in slideshow mode?

Are you on a modern page? If so, you can use the File Viewer web part to show the document on the page.

This problem seems to have been ongoing for years, yet Microsoft have turned a blind eye to it.
