We would like to make our news webparts on a sharepoint-site more relevant to the visiting user.
I know that's feasible by using filters based on page properties.
But is there a way to add a filter to a news web part that is based on the content of a user profile field?
This would be the use case:
We are a university college with a lot of programs. Each program has its own sharepoint-team site. Each program has some education paths and each student is either in a first year, second year or third year.
It would be great to have one news web part that can filter news posts based on page properties that are matched with profile information of the student. When we show this news web part on the homepage of the students teamsite with a filter based on the users profile, that would make the homepage very personalized and relevant to the student.
