In O365 SPO the user experience attempting to coauthor Word in app is proving difficult because of compatibility checker popping up with every change.

All the docs and blogs I can find about turning off compatibility checker don't fit the context of in SharePoint environment. (for instance there is no "Convert" option in doc info).

Although I can see in someone else's context it may be useful to be compatible with .doc format of 20 years ago, in my environment this pales in comparison to an unhindered coauthoring experience. Since everybody in my enterprise organization is running O365 and has the same version of all office tools checking the version of a doc is not highly valuable.

In the event of uploading an older .doc format, having the option to convert to .docx would be useful. Having a button to remove "compatibility mode" in all documents would be even better.
