We have a number of document libraries on our site and all of them were working wonderfully for the first few months, but then searches done in the libraries (modern or classic) return only partial results.
For example, if we have a document library with 5 or 6 documents which include the word "affidavit" in the title, the initial search for "affidavit" in the search bar brings back 2 or 3 results, then the "see more results" brings back a different set of results, sometimes nothing, sometimes partial.
We have re-indexed multiple times, tried all browsers, and tried both classic and modern with no luck.
Microsoft support "ran tests" for over 3 months and finally said that it was my fault for having more than 5000 items in the library, even though they are all divided into discrete folders with only a couple dozen items per folder. They have closed this ticket and refuse to offer further support on it, suggesting an engineer would look at it if enough people reported the same problem on the "suggestions" page.
Has anybody got any ideas on this? Anybody experience something similar?
