Deleted Files/Folders in users' Recycle Bin (Desktop)

An organization with Microsoft 365 E5 subscriptions has migrated their Widnows SMB Shares contents to Sharepoint Document Library sites; and using OneDrive for Business Sync to sync/access the data.

 

When some users delete files/folders from a site, some users have discovered the documents in their Recycle Bin (Desktop).

 

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? How would this be resolved?

I did the same mistake 3 years ago. There are many pros, but the OneDrive sync client will make you cry. Good luck :D
I replied too soon. The issue re-surfaced; resetting OneDrive seems to be a "sweep it under the run/couch" solution instead of root cause solution.

Not all users experience the issue; about 10-15% are experiencing the issue. They are running Windows 11 Enterprise. Microsoft Office and OneDrive for Business application launchers are sourced from their Microsoft365 portal.
