In modern team site, there's an option to switch to classic and from there I can create a subsite. However, there's no option on a communication site. Funnily, I clicked the back button on my browser while typing this and it showed the option to switched to classic from the communication site. But I cannot repeat this experience again.
How do you create a subsite from a communication site?

Hi, from this page - https://tenanturl-admin.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/online/TenantSettings.aspx you need to scroll down to Subsite Creation and ensure it is set as below.
Please note that it is Microsoft recommended practice now to use hub sites in the modern experience instead of creating subsites.

@PeterRising Thanks. I'll look into hub site.

hi @PeterRising , but Since you shouldn’t exceed three levels of hub sites, using a subsite would be a solution to avoid creating a fourth level. Or is it still better to have a fourth-level hub?
