Classic Vs Modern site page Experiences in sharePoint

Copper Contributor

I have migrated a classic site page which is having some web Parts like search Box, Search Navigation and Newsfeed. When I migrate the site page from classic to modern the above web parts were missed in the destination site page and the site page is still in classic experience even after migrated to modern.

How Can I convert that into modern site page and How can I get those missed web parts?

Hello @Hareesha

modern and classic have different experiences. You can not use classic web part ond modern pages, in modern are other web parts available. Here are two articles about modern vs. classic:

And here are more information about modernization:

Solution

@Hareesha Classic search web parts are not supported in modern experience pages.

You may need to remove classic web parts from page first and then try to transform it to modern page. In modern experience, you can use PnP Modern search web parts.

Check these for more information:

  1. Supported web parts in modern experience
  2. Transform classic pages to modern pages
  3. PnP Modern Search web parts
