Change default view when adding picture to page

Copper Contributor

Hi,

When we have created a page and want to add a picture, the pictures opens up in tiles view. I have changed the default view (the only view) for the library to show in list view, but when we use it to add pictures to pages, it still opens with tiles.

Anyway to change that default view?

How you are adding pictures on SharePoint site page? Which web part are you using?

If you are using Library web part on site page, make sure you have set list view as default view in document library and same view is selected in library web part settings.

Hi @ganeshsanap,

Hi,
My default view is set to list, as I said in my message. When we add a picture to a page, we do it with Add -> Picture and we then get this up:

We want this to come up:

As per my testing, this popup to select image from existing libraries does not respect the default library view settings to show the images in list or tile view. It always opens in the tile view format.

However, you can change it to the list view using these options at the top:

I know that, but the customer wanted to know if it is possible to change the default to list view. Thanks for answering me @ganeshsanap =)

I don't think there is any SharePoint setting/option available to change the view to list view by default.
