Hello there,
For the past week we have been having an issue where some Excel and PowerPoint documents stored in SharePoint and OneDrive are only editable in the browser. When a user attempts to open the files in the desktop app, they get the error in the screenshot below: (Redacted for client privacy)
What we have tried:
- Opening the file on another computer.
- Replacing the file with a new file (with the same name)
- Deleting the file then uploading a new file (with the same name)
- Ruled out permissions issues
- Ruled out a software problem
Here is what DOES solve the issue:
Create a new file, copy and paste the text from the file that will not open. Save it to the same Doc Library with a NEW name.
Anyone else had this issue?
